Dennis Orlando is an award-winning artist with over twenty-five years of professional experience. Dennis was trained as a fine arts painter in the 70's and spent over 20 years working with traditional artist tools. In the early 90's, he helped pioneer a new fine arts medium called "Digital Painting", creating traditional painterly images, totally through the use of digital tools. He demonstrated how traditional artists could use new technology for creative self-expression. His work is said to achieve a delicacy of expression unusual in digital art. Landscapes and still life's that capture the mysterious, evanescent quality of light in a way that clearly owes more to the impressionists than to computer science.

Orlando received his formal fine arts and commercial arts training at the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia and Bucks County College in Newtown, Pennsylvania, USA. Orlando's computer graphics skills are self-taught and have been shared with thousands through magazine articles and tutorials featured in over 15 books. His digital paintings, created entirely on the computer, have received international recognition and can be seen in corporate collections, gallery exhibitions, books, CD-ROM's and on the web. He has received numerous honors and awards in the fields of fine art, digital illustration, web design, advertising, marketing communications and graphic design.

In the 1980's, Orlando set up one of the east coasts first digital creative studios within an advertising agency environment. A revolution that started slowly, but swept through the industry changing everything in its wake. Dennis has a diverse background as a fine artist, graphic designer, art director, creative director, digital strategist, Web Design creative consultant, and adjunct professor.

Dennis' digital paintings have appeared internationally in exhibitions, books, magazines, CD-ROM's, videos, calendars and on the World Wide Web. His work has been selected to appear in PRINT magazine, Macworld, eDesign, Computer Artist, Publish, Computer Pictures, Multimedia Producer, NADTP Journal, CD ROM Today, IEEE and numerous other magazines. Orlando's digital paintings are currently showcased in 15 books published by Peachpit Press, Rockport, MIS, Madison Square Press, SYBEX, IDG, Hayden and Graphic Sha, Tokyo, Japan.

Orlando's paintings have been exhibited nationally in shows in Boston, Chicago, Colorado, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Princeton and San Francisco. International shows include exhibits in Germany, Israel, England, France, Italy, Sweden, Japan and Canada.
